The fire reportedly started at 3:06 pm today, June 2, according to an eyewitnesses account.

Although the fire fighters have arrived at the scene to put out the fire, the cause of the outbreak was yet to be ascertained as at the time of writing this report.

Meanwhile, fire has burnt to death 89 people and destroyed properties worth  N17.72 billion in Lagos state in the last one year.

This was disclosed by the Lagos state commissioner for special duties and inter-governmental relations, Oluseye Oladejo on Tuesday, May 17, in Lagos.

According to him, properties estimated at N17.72 billion were destroyed by fire while properties estimated at N106.32 billion were saved from being burnt by fire by fire servicemen in the last one year.
