Gunmen have kidnapped a younger sister of Henry Offongo, a member of the House of Representatives, representing Southern Ijaw Federal Constituency, Bayelsa state, The Punch reports.
According to the report, the victim, Seighe Samson, a mother of six and in her late 30s, was abducted at about 11pm on Tuesday, May 31, at her home in Igbomotoru in Southern Ijaw.
It was gathered that the armed gang numbering about six, stormed the coastal community in a speedboat and immediately made their way to Seighe’s residence.

After beating Mr Samson, the victim’s husband, who had resisted her kidnap, the gunmen reportedly grabbed their victim and took her away to a yet unknown destination.
Confirming the incident, Asinim Butswat, the police public relations officer, Bayelsa state command said three suspects in connection with the kidnap have been arrested.
He said: “We are aware of the abduction and three suspects have been arrested in connection with the abduction.
“I would not like to mention their names because investigation is still on-going.”
The abduction of Offongo’s younger sister comes barely 24 hours as unknown gunmen reportedly invaded the Kogi House of Assembly legislative quarters, situated along Ganaja road.
The gunmen were said to have arrived around 2am, shooting sporadically into air and causing panic.
Speaking on the incident, Prince Matthew Kolawole, the spokesman of the G-15 lawmakers said the gunmen left after shooting for over 30 minutes.
