Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state on Thursday, June 2, received Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the Port Harcourt International Airport during his visit to the state to flag off the implementation of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) report for the clean-up of Ogoni land.
The vice president represented President Buhari who was billed to attend the scheduled one-day visit to Ogoni land, Rivers state, for the flag-off event.
President Muhammadu Buhari earlier today, June 2, canceled his visit to Ogoni land to kick off the cleaning program with no official reason was given following threats by Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) on the life of the president.

The Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) on Wednesday, June 1, had threatened to kill President Buhari ahead of the his scheduled visit to Rivers state to flag off the UNEP clean-up of Ogoniland.
The representative of the group issuing the threat said Buhari should sign his death warrant before coming to Port Harcourt or try to visit any state of the Niger Delta community, Biafra land, adding that if the president tries to step his foot in any community of the Niger Delta, in Biafraland, he will not go back alive.
