Boko Haram terrorists have been advised to surrender or be uprooted from their entire areas in a short while.

This is the decision of the Nigerian army as revealed by Major General Lucky Irabor, the theatre commander of operation Lafiya Dole.

Irabor made this known when he was speaking at the foundation laying ceremony of the Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA) nursery school and a day care centre in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.

According to, the Major General said: “I will like to use this opportunity to encourage those of them who have made up their minds to surrender, that now is the time for them to do so, because the olive branch is being offered to them.

“But where they fail to take the olive branch, they will pay the price for stubbornness. We will ensure that they are uprooted out of the entire area in a short while.”

Speaking further, Irabor noted that, “We are pleased with the socio-economic activities that are returning in the north east, that is what had actually fired us up to ensure that we chase the criminals out of the place.”

While Nigerians were thinking that the terrorists had been duly subdued, they regrouped again and struck; seizing five Borno communities in the process.

During the attack which took place on Wednesday, May 26, the communities of Ladin Buta near Khaddamari village of Jere local government area of Borno state were destroyed by suspected members of the Boko Haram sect.
