Rev. Fr. Willy Ojukwu has advised President Muhammadu Buhari that the key to uniting Nigeria and developing it is to implement the report of the 2014 national conference.

Vanguard reports that the parish priest of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Gwarimpa in Abuja made this call during mass on Sunday, May 22.
Ojukwu said the report contained “valuable recommendations” that can move the country forward.

The Catholic priest said: “The Federal Government should implement the report of the National Conference. I urge the government to do so now because of the importance of its content. In that document, I am sure, lies the solution to most of the problems and major issues in the country. Now is the time for the government to look at the report and implement its recommendations.”

He said it was saddening that many Nigerians were still languishing in poverty while corruption prevailed in high places.

He urged leaders to have the fear of God in their hearts and that leadership was about service and humility “which has continued to lack largely in the governance in the country”.
Ojukwu prayed for peace in the country and urged Nigerians to continue to be prayerful and support the Buhari’s effort to rid the country of corruption.

He also called on parents to inculcate good virtues in their children “so that they will be better citizens and leaders when they grow up”.

The national conference held in 2014 was held in Abuja and brought representatives from all region to debate and proffer solutions during the administration of Goodluck Jonathan.
