Governor Abdullahi Umar Gandoje of Kano state has lost his mother.

Governor Abdullahi-Ganduje of Kano state

She was said to have kicked the bucket at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Nasarawa Specialist Hospital at the age of 93 on Thursday, March 3.
The Lagos state governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has since reacted to the exit of his counterpart’s mother, Hajiya Fadimatu Umar Ganduje.

In a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Habib Aruna, Ambode urged his brother governor to take solace in the fact that his mother lived a long and fulfilled life and raised him up to become who he is today.

“The loss of one’s mother is always painful and leaves a great vacuum. Much as it is our wish that our parents, especially our mothers stay much longer with us, it is the will of God that she is called to glory at this time. Hajiya Ganduje, no doubt lived well, and it is evident in the six children she raised, who are today doing successfully well in their various endeavours.

“I urge my brother and friend, Alhaji Ganduje to take heart and most importantly, take solace in the good times he shared with his mother while she was alive and the lessons she taught him and his siblings.

“I also urge him to continue to uphold the ideals he learnt from his late mother and utilise same to better the lives of the people of Kano State.

“On behalf of the good people of Lagos State, I want to express our heartfelt condolence to the family of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on this great and irreparable loss and wish the departed peaceful rest,” the statement read.
