Former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s rejection of the same-sex marriage during his recent trip to the United States.
The spokesperson of the 2015 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign organization applauded the president for defending our culture.
Ahead of Buhari’s four day visit to the country, there were fears amongst Nigerians that Buhari could succumb to pressure from Obama to approve same sex marriage in Nigeria.
However, on Wednesday, July 22, report surfaced that when the issue of gay marriage was raised in one of the meetings Buhari attended in the US, he said it was against Nigeria’s law.
In a swift reaction, Fani-Kayode took to Twitter, commending the President for doing so.
According to him, it was very courageous of the president to have stood up for our culture.

Recently, Fani-Kayode accused the US government helping Boko Haram insurgency to spread in Nigeria as it refused to classify the group as a terrorist organisation until 2014.
